PANDA - Interactive Game Prototype
A narrative exploration game about survival in the Anthropocene.
PANDA is a third-person game prototype I developed in Unity to explore environmental storytelling and themes related to the Anthropocene. In the game, the player controls a mother panda navigating an abandoned zoo affected by a forest fire and a toxic industrial gas leak. The goal is to explore the environment, collect keys, rescue trapped cubs, and escape before the spreading gas makes the area uninhabitable.
With this project, I wanted to shift the perspective away from humans and place the player in the role of an animal directly affected by environmental collapse. The abandoned zoo becomes a symbolic environment where nature and human infrastructure collide.
While developing this prototype, I implemented the core gameplay mechanics in Unity, including a third-person player controller, key collection and cage interactions, a cub-following system, and a timed gas bar that creates tension and structures the player’s progression through the level.
